After opening for business on 01 January 2012, HWB has already expanded its Shipping Team by the recruitment of two additional lawyers.  

These most recent HWB recruits see the size of HWB's Shipping Team increase to 1 partner and 4 lawyers and HWB’s Dispute Resolution Practice increase to 4 partners and 18 lawyers, with additional hires on the way.

Sammy Smallbone was recruited from Stephenson Harwood in London where he practised both contentious and non-contentious maritime law subsequent to qualifying as a barrister in the Middle Temple.

Timothy Lam was recruited from Hicksons in Sydney where he practiced both contentious and non-contentious maritime law and commercial litigation.  Timothy has a Master of Laws (Commercial and Corporate) from the University of New South Wales, a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney and a Masters of Applied Law (Civil Litigation) from the Australian College of Law.

Chris Howse
(the head of HWB's Shipping Team) commented upon the recent hires by saying that:

After opening for business on 01 January 2012, HWB has already grown to over 60 partners, lawyers and staff.  

Kevin Bowers (a Partner in HWB's Dispute Resolution Practice) commented upon this achievement by saying that:
